Happy Friday! This week in Pre-K 2, we took the time to understand classroom rules, our schedule, class jobs and ways we show kindness both inside and outside the classroom! This week was also very special because we got the opportunity to start to go to the gym as well as taking the students to the cafeteria for lunch time! It’s a nice way to be able to get the kids out of the room and they loved it! We also celebrated one of our classmates' birthdays, Sylvia!
During circle time we started by singing our good morning song to recognize our friends names and faces. After we started breaking down classroom jobs such as line leader, caboose, door holder, pencil monitor, teacher assistant, ect. During circle time we reviewed what each job's roles are and the students began to implement them throughout the day. We had students come to the board and help change the calendar and days of the week. Each day we’ve been singing the days of the week and months of the year songs. They have loved doing this because once we get to the day of the week it is or the month of the year we’re in they get to jump up as high as they can! We read books such as, “Pete the Cat and His Groovy Guide to Kindness” and “Bee Heartful Spread Loving Kindness”. These books reviewed ways to spread kindness and stay positive. We practiced taking deep breaths to calm our bodies and practiced spreading loving kindness just like in our book. We brainstormed different ways to show kindness and then we drew a picture of how each child likes to show kindness! It was another great week here in Pre-K 2. The kids are doing amazing and I love watching them make new friends and build new relationships. Next week we will begin working on learning all about ourselves! We will talk about how each child is special and unique but also similar! I hope you all have an amazing weekend!
